A TREE FALLING ISN'T THE END OF ITS STORY.
THAT'S WHERE OUR STORY BEGINS.
WE SEE SOMETHING DIFFERENT.
At The Unfinished Edge, we recover fallen and overlooked timber and give it another purpose.
What may look like an old log lying on the ground can hold something extraordinary inside. And until we make that first cut, even we don't know exactly what we're going to find.
That's part of what we love about what we do.
When the sawmill blade passes through that log and the first slab comes away, decades of hidden grain, color and character are revealed for the first time.
No factory created it.
No machine printed the pattern.
Nature made it. We simply uncovered it.
WHY THE UNFINISHED EDGE?
Look closely at a live-edge slab and you'll see something conventional lumber has lost.
The original shape of the tree.
The curves. The knots. The scars. The places where branches once grew. The imperfections created during a lifetime outdoors.
We don't believe those things should always be cut away.
They're part of what makes the wood worth saving.
That's what The Unfinished Edge represents to us.
Not unfinished craftsmanship.
Unfinished character.
A connection between what the tree once was and what it is about to become.
THE NEXT CHAPTER IS YOURS.
We can recover the tree.
We can mill the log.
We can reveal what's been hidden inside.
And we can help transform that timber into something built to last.
But eventually, it leaves our hands.
That's when your part of the story begins.
A tree falling isn't the end of its story.
IT'S THE BEGINNING OF YOURS.
THE UNFINISHED EDGE
Building the next chapter, one slab at a time.
Long before a log ever reaches our sawmill, its story has already been written.
Years of sunshine and rain. Drought and storms. New growth, broken branches and changing seasons. Every year leaves something behind—another ring, another knot, another piece of character hidden beneath the bark.
Then one day, the tree falls.
For many, that's the end of the story.
For us, it's just the beginning.
FROM FALLEN TIMBER TO SOMETHING WORTH KEEPING.
Once opened, every log takes us in a different direction.
Some become live-edge tables where families will gather for generations. Others become benches, mantels, countertops, shelves, desks or one-of-a-kind pieces that could never be duplicated exactly.
And sometimes the wood itself tells us what it wants to become.
That's the beauty of working with natural timber.
We aren't interested in making every piece look the same.
We want every piece to look like itself.
BUILT WITH A STORY.
We believe furniture should be more than something that fills a space.
It should mean something.
A dining table becomes family dinners, birthdays and holidays.
A desk becomes the place where ideas take shape.
A mantel becomes the backdrop to photographs and memories.
A bench becomes the place someone sits every morning to put on their boots.
The things we build begin with the story of a tree. Over time, that story becomes intertwined with the lives of the people who own them.
And that's when a piece of wood becomes something more.
